The countdown is on for next month’s sentencing for Diddy. His legal team is pushing for leniency, while prosecutors are asking for more time behind bars.
Diddy’s lawyers argue that the sentencing guidelines for his convictions under the Mann Act should carry penalties of six to 12 months per count. They also note that he’s already served 13 months at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center.
As a compromise, Diddy is offering a 14-month sentence with supervised release that includes drug treatment and therapy.
On the other side, prosecutors are recommending a sentence of 51 to 63 months.
The final decision will come on October 3. All eyes are on the courtroom.
