The Institute shared a sample menu for a typical Independence Day gathering. Based on their research, the total cost to feed ten people this year is estimated at around $130.
But let’s be real—most people would agree that $130 doesn’t stretch far enough for a solid July 4th spread, especially if you’re including meats, drinks, and desserts. Just buying enough meat for grilling, sides, drinks, and disposable plates and cups can easily push you past that number. And don’t forget extra costs like charcoal, condiments, or even gas if you're traveling to host or attend.
