"The Boy Is Mine Tour" has earned a high-profile endorsement from former First Lady Michelle Obama.
On Sunday (November 30), Obama stepped out to support Brandy, Monica, Kelly Rowland, and Mya at the Washington, D.C. stop of the tour as they performed a slate of ’90s and ’00s R&B classics.
"The Look" author later took to Instagram to share photos of the backstage moments she shared with the crew.
“To Brandy, Monica, Kelly, Mya, and the entire crew—you all did your thing last night in DC,” Obama wrote. “Such a beautiful evening of love and sisterhood. Thank you for sharing your gifts with all of us. Y’all make me proud to be a Black woman in America. I will see you all soon.”
"The Boy Is Mine Tour" has navigated both challenges and triumphs since kicking off in October. Brandy paused her opening night performance in Chicago due to exhaustion, while Muni Long temporarily stepped away because of illness. Mya began filling in for select dates and later secured a permanent slot when Long exited the tour over increased health risks.
Despite the hurdles, the tour has drawn a star-studded crowd, including the likes of Rihanna, Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Queen Latifah, LL Cool J, and more. "The Boy Is Mine Tour" continues with upcoming stops in Atlanta, Houston, New Orleans, and more before concluding in Jacksonville, Florida, on December 14.
