DDG Appears To Reference Custody Battle With Halle On Song From New Album

DDG has attempted to make amends with the mother of his son, Halle Bailey, on a song from his brand-new album.

On Friday, October 10, the streamer-turned-rapper released his fifth studio LP moo via Epic Records. The album comes with 14 songs including collaborations with BIA, Gunna and PlaqueBoxMax. At the beginning of the project, DDG seemingly addresses his ongoing legal battle over his son, Halo, in the song "17 More Years."

“I don't wanna fight no more, tired of the court dates," he raps. "Lawyers gettin’ over on us, watchin' money go to waste/We should all get together on his birthday, light the cake."

"If we talk, it'll get better, go ahead and drop the case," he continues. "Used to text your phone, now we speakin’ through the mail/You don't even know I got love for you still/Said you want me gone, is that really how you feel?/Might as well get along, we got seventeen more years.”

DDG and Halle Bailey began their custody battle over young Halo earlier this year, several months after they broke up. In March, he publicly pleaded with Halle not to take their son away from him on his song "Don't Take My Son." Halle responded by getting a restraining order against DDG after she claimed he allegedly attacked her in front of their child. A judge ordered the artist to stay 100 yards away from her and Halo.

Their battle intensified after Halle requested sole custody of Halo. She asked to limit DDG's time with baby Halo to once a week for six hours while the child is in Los Angeles, and requested that DDG not travel with Halo without written permission. He responded by claiming Halle was an "imminent emotional and psychological risk" to their infant son, and accused her of acting erratically in the past. A judge granted the R&B singer temporary sole custody of Halo in May.

It seems like DDG is trying to resolve his issues with Halle so that he can see his son again. We'll see if his latest song makes a difference. Listen to moo on iHeartRadio and watch the official music video for "17 More Years" below.
