CARDI B: Academy Award for Best Actress?
Cardi B has been cast in her first leading role in a heist comedy. The movie is called Assisted Living. Cardi’s character disguises herself as an elderly woman, then hides from law enforcement inside her grandmother’s nursing home.
Sounds like a comedy we’ve seen before: Whoopi Goldberg in Sister Act.
Cardi enjoyed a small role in the Jennifer Lopez flick, Hustlers. She also has a part in the Fast & Furious ninth installment F9.
ISSA RAE, Launched MasterClass For Creative
Issa Rae, star and creator of HBO’s Insecure, has teamed up with MasterClass to launch her first online class. She promises to share her approach to “creating outside the lines” and how she carved out a name for herself in Hollywood.
Rae’s class is available now through MasterClass’ $180 annual membership, which also provides access to more than 100 classes, including classes from Shonda Rhimes and Pharrell Williams.
TYLER PERRY: Honorary Oscar for Charitable Efforts
And speaking of classes, Tyler Perry is in a class of his own... The Academy Awards recognizes that... They'll honor him with the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award. It’s in recognition of Tyler's "extensive work on humanitarian and social justice causes.” The press release praises Perry’s commitment during the pandemic to address “economic distress, racial reckoning and homelessness in his community.”
The Oscars are scheduled for April 25th and will most likely be a virtual ceremony unless LA can flatten the curve after a deadly surge this winter.
